Is it ok to dyno in FWD mode?

Like the title says I am looking to potentially dyno my evo in FWD mode because there is no available AWD in my state. Just curious to see if there is any issues that I may have to consider such as how my tune would be affected and etc? Also, I was told you have to remove the drive shaft to do this or is there an easier way going about this? Any insights or recommendations welcomed..........

Bad Idea.

A good idea would be to edit your post to say,"Nevermind, mods please delete", before someone here flames you so bad your clearcoat starts to peel.

definately a real bad idea.
Go find an AWD dyno, plz..

Have you tried:

Hale's Technical Service
3207 Denali St
Anchorage,AK. 99503
Phone : 907-277-4253

They have a dynojet - just not sure which one.
Site doesn't specify.

Well I remember reading about AMS dynoing their shop car on a FWD dyno making like 775whp on a FWD dyno a couple years back so thats why I asked the question. I really want to know what I'm putting down but the closest available AWD is in Washington and I'm in Alaska at the bottom see my problem.......

Like I mentioned earlier for me to find a an AWD is not convenient at all considering I live in Anchorage and the closest dyno is in Washington. The shop that you mentioned was the dyno I was going to use but its only 2 wheel drive. The only other AWD dyno is at the university but its forbidden to the public so that's out of the question.

It would not be worth it under any circumstance. You'll cause so many problems for yourself. Save some doe ray mee and hit up that dyno in washington.

You'll f#ck up your drivetrain doing that. They tell you not to 2wheel tow the car so why would you think you could 2wd dyno it?

Because towing it without a flat bed would only spin two wheels, and fuxxor the transfer case. Disconnecting the driveshaft on the dyno is not going to destroy the transfer case. Common sense.

You can't dyno in FWD because you will burn up the viscous coupling in the center diff. There were work arounds for this in the old days by the shops such as BR and AMS but it is a PITA and time consuming compared to finding an AWD dyno.
