2nd gear lockout

Hi ,
I have lately been having problems with lockout at high RPMS from 1st to 2nd. After adjusting the cluth many times i got it to a reasonable level (ACT clutch).

Just last night it would not get into 2nd gear at all! this is at normal driving and not at high rpm shifts. In fact, even from neutral it would not get into second. It would go half way through and not all the way.

Would this be the synchro only? or the fork as well? I'm taking in to the dealer in a couple of days.

Yeah forgot to add..

i had slight grinding 1st to 2nd changes in normal driving.

clutch has been on for the past 10,000km's only.

I'm guessing it's the synchro, hoping it's not the fork as well.

It would only get halfway into second and not all the way. this is at neutral as well. It doesnt help getting 1st and then 2nd either.

Welcome to the club... Evo gears very fragile, i hope you're not driving rough. To my knowledge, gear refurbishment doesnt cost much, ask dealer if they can do it if ever they're gonna disassemble it..

I ve emailed shep about some heavy duty synchro for the 6speed. I know no one recommends the 6 speed but im not gona throw away my 6speed if it's only the synchro.

I was just reading on shep's website, and came across this:
Double Synchro 1-2 Kit

Includes:
2nd gear
1-2 hub and sleeve kit
Synchro keys
Synchro springs
1-2 fork

Will fit '91 and later. Specify FWD or AWD.

Price: $300.00 + $10 s/h

Will this fit an evo?

do you have a 5 speed or a 6speed?
same thing happened to me regarding the lock out on every gear...those organice high pressure plate clutches suck...i had the exedy stg1 back then..

i rebuilt my gear box...cost me about $1000 for all the gears/selectors and synchros...i also went with an exedy twin...couldnt be happier..

goodluck

My 06 IX 5 speed suffers from 4th gear lockout. Happens most of the time during high rpm shift from 3rd to 4th. Stock clutch, 30k miles.

I think its just because people are hard on 2nd and 4th gear for obvious reasons. But yea, prolly the synchro.
