Challenge: Who has a solution to my stall problem??

All:

OK, I've had this problem for a long time and NOONE seems to know what is going on. When I get to Texas I'm going to see about taking the car to a very good shop and giving them as long as they need to find out what he problem is.

Problem: Car stalls when you put the car under a slight load (mashing the gas to slightly above ~2krpm and letting out the clutch) and then release the gas and press the clutch in abruptly (no brakes applied). It mainly happens on inclines and is exaggerated when the A/C is turned on or when it's damp outside. In those conditions, the car will shut off.

I datalogged this event and as you can see the black circle indicates the stall condition. I have stock intake. When I bought the Buschur intake system 2 years ago, it really stalled out. I put everything back to stock and sold the intake. Now I have a EVO IX BOV and it seems to stall more than often.

Btw, the problem is INTERMITTANT!! Most of the time, it will stalled on an incline but sometimes the rpms steadies itself.

NOTE: Under normal stop and go traffic, the car doesn't stall!! Acceleration is good and cruising is fine!

Mods: headers, TBE, 10.5 hotside, and LICP.

Here's the log:

It shows 3 events of me trying to duplicate the stall. On the last rev up over 1700 rpms, and I let off the gas and quickly pressed in the clutch, sure enough, it went below the specified 850rpms and stalled to 500rpms.

So let's hear it!!

-M

Update

M - A - F ???

I went outside and started the car up. I opened the hood and while the car was sitting idling... I knocked on the stock airbox - the car stalls.. hmm.. that's interesting... can anyone else duplicate this that has a stock airbox? Just start the car up, wait for it to get to operating temperature (coolant fan should come on at least once), and then knock hard on the airbox. Please let me know if your car stalls.

I hope it's just this simple...

Have you checked your car to see if it stalls when you knock hard on the stock airbox?

Pull out your maf and see if the screen/honeycomb is not moving. I have had the same problem you have. I fixed it by getting realy good at heel/toeing to keep my car from stalling. I have it with the my 8rs and my 9gsr.

Do you have any friends with EVOs?

Swap his/her maf into your car and see if the problem is still there. You could have a flakey MAF sensor. Check you connections first

Why does your injector pulse width shoot way up right where it gets ready to stall?

Everywhere else the engine looses RPM the pulse width drops except for where it just about stalls. There it jumps way up and probably goes rich causing or aggravating the stumble.

The MAF doesn't look like it jumps right there either (giving false reading), unless the sample rate isn't quick enough to show it but, then the ECU shouldn't react to it either I would think.

i had similar problem and solve it by changed my rom from 94170015 back to my original rom 94170008. I'm not sure how it made in to my car, must be from one of my tuners. The 0015 is suppose to fix the 03 evo common p0300 problem but it was actually causing me problem.
Since switched back to 0008 (I copied all my fuel and timing settings over as well), the car no longer stall and I don't get p0300 code (weird) any more.

I'm not saying that it'll solve your problem but it may help.

jsut for kicks try going back to the stock bov, I found the 1g valve has the best drivability but wont hold much over 23psi unless you get the dejon tool mod.

Did you try adjusting any of the idle stepper tables using ECUFlash or BISS?
