Car runs bad after cams

Last weekend me and a couple friends who work on cars for a living put in a set of cosi cams in our friends IX. This is like the 6th set of cams i have done in an evo so we know what we are doing. The install went fine but for some reason the car now sounds like it is a subaru and sputters like hell taking off.. We put it on the dyno and tried to tune it but it only made 272 and 217 ft/lbs.. took out the plugs that were fouled badly replaced them and the car was still running rich as hell down low. Took off the timing cover and the timing is DEAD on.... no codes what so ever in the car. Going down the highway the car is perfect at 14.8 to 15.2 afr's.... I already turned the cam position sensors to make sure they werent 180degrees out but it still sputters like hell..... has anyone run into a problem like this? Could we possibly have gotten a bad set of cams?

hmmm.... why not just reinstall? You either got a bad set of cams or something you overlooked something. Cosworth is a great company but mistakes happen. Hks actually sent a guy 2 intake cams in socal one time. Who knows. Double check and make sure.

Well I am 100% sure it is not an install problem.. we even took off the valve cover twice and checked the timing and turned the crank with the cover off to make sure nothing was wrong... and still it sputters like hell taking off... but when you get to crusiing speed it is fine. I know when the cams first came out there were some problems with them... But i would what are the chances we would get a set of bad cams??

That can't happen on an IX. The cam on the Mivec gear is different.

You cannot install 2 intake cams on any Evo.

I know... i even looked at it agian to make sure it didnt jump a tooth. I honestly dont know what the hell is wrong... nothing is unplugged or anything. I know there is only a very very very small chance that we may have got a set of bad cams... but this is like the 6th or 7th set i have put in and is the first with any trouble.
