O-Ringing the head or block would really be a good idea to help with seal. Also I'd look into what the exact spec AMS recommends for head stud torque on their L19 stud package. I've heard its up to like 120ft-lbs.

Most guys doing ARP have done 90lbs, when I got my first engine build we checked them and they didnt budge up to 100lbs so we just left them as is. Also I believe AMS still uses a stock head gasket. I'd call them and see what they say.

My current build has their new AMS studs, they re o-ringed the block and attached the head to the block for me. Paul is correct there is no grove on the head just the block is o-ringed with copper wire.

Buschur uses stainless wire to o-ring their heads, and the block has no grove. Both are proven to work well.

Paul, I figured it was at 100ft-lbs. or slightly above. I heard about 120ft-lbs. but cannot confirm that is 100% accurate. I didn't specifically ask them what they would torque the head to. I guess I should ask

We went and bought the tool to do the o-ring very expensive but works awesome. the cooper works nice because it crushes down just enough to keep things sealed.

It wouldn't hurt to check them seeming as you daily driver her hard

From all the research we have been doing is the new billet technology the rods just don't break from daily driving them but i would wait for Lucas to test them out. Lol might be a couple years to get the miles on them tho

Got a dyno graph of the 707? Mind sharing more details of your setup? I have the AMS 37r currently. Only thing really holding me back from bigger is I dont want to loose A/C. Florida gets really hot as you already know

I should caution that the only way to properly determine if there is any validity to claims contrary to common knowledge (that Al rods are unacceptable for long-term use) is to provide actual examples of engines of similar specific output with considerable mileage, and with normal anticipated use.
