clutch about to go out?

I dont know if it going out or what, theres the clutch smell but no slipage at all. The clutch still holds good, so i dont know if i should go ahead and order a new clutch or what. It only smells when i get on it, like i can be in 3rd gear and punch it, stop the car and it smells. Confusedd

that means its going but its just not bad yet. thats what happened to my car. put the car in 5th at about 2k and floor it. if the rpms go up but the car doesnt really move like it should then its your clutch.

One way to test if you need a new clutch is to put it into 5th gear from a dead stop. If you car doesn't budge, you need a new clutch.

If its slipping and you're smelling the clutch, its gonna get glazed and no longer grip. Same thing happened to my evo except this happened at the track. Lost all clutch grip and ended up limping home. Start saving money now. Those signs are indicative of a clutch about to be gone.

When you run it hard your gonna smell clutch. You need a new one when you feel slippage.
