aftermarket exhaust

hi, my buddy might be getting a used 03 evo bone stock, and 1st thing he is going to do is get a turbo xs tbe, but dealership says " it will void the warranty that is exhaust related" but just wondering any evo's out their have exhaust related problems?

If its an 03 he wont have any warranty so what is the problem?

There aren't a whole lot of problems associated with throwing on a TBE. Pretty much just benefits. It might throw off the a/f ratio a little bit, but not severe enough to do damage. Just make sure that a tune of some sort would be put on the mod list. A proper tune is just as important (probably more important) than the exhaust itself.

So a catback shouldnt void it, but a custom tune should eliminate the possibility of getting it voided??

Once he drives the car, the mod bug will bite, and he might as well kiss the warranty goodbye. doesn't tend to like mods period.

this is off topic but since you live in eastpointe have i seen you around woodward etc?
