Want to replace recirc valve, which one would perform better?
I still have the stock plastic recirc valve on my Evo and for my piece of mind I'd really like to replace it. Would I be better off getting the stock metal Evo 9 valve, or would an upgrade to a better valve be in order? I thought about the Greddy Rs valve with the Evo recirc kit and doing the single spring mod, but I also read some horror stories on here about the seals dry rotting away. I know this is a pretty common question, but all my searches on here really haven't answered any of my questions on how different valves might effect drivability and such. I like the sound from the Greddy pieces as well, but that's not my top priority. Will the stock Evo 9 valve create any stuttering or stalling issues do to a higher spring rate? Just want to do a little homework before I drop some money on something that I might end up replacing again in the long run.
And what is "way up"? Right now I'm running at 22psi tapering to 20 through EcuFlash (self tuned), evo9 fuel pump for now, TBE no cat and Injen intake/IC kit. After spring time I have a set of BC 272's to drop in too and possibly an FP-Green upgrade, so I want something that will hold up.
