Unreal Dyno Results...

I knew there was a horsepower/torque problem and it's been going on for a month so I decided to get it dynoed and see how much it pushes. The results... 187 hp / 202 tq. I was trippin out on those numbers. I think I'm the only one that encountered this problem and this much hp out of all Evo owners... why me. One of the AMS tuners, Jensen, took a look at everything- loose clamps, hoses, etc. he didn't datalog it tho, but the only thing that could be the cause of the problem would be the flashed ECU or a faulty air flow meter/sensor. It's most likely an electrical problem because when flooring it, something is restricting the car from it's full hp / tq potential. Advices and suggestions would be highly appreciated. Btw, did anyone ever heard or know someone who has or had this problem before? Think it might be the fuel pump? Here are my mods: RS*R Cat-back Exhaust, DC Sports Downpipe, Walbro 255 Fuel Pump, Defi Boost / Oil Temp. / Oil Press. gauges, Apex'i Turbo Timer, Greddy Profec Spec II B Boost Controller, ARC Intake, Samco Intake Hose, HKS BOV, Nisei Mini Battery, Invidia o2 Housing, Megan Headers, NGK Iridium Spark Plugs, and a E-mail Flash from Al's dynoflash.com

or stick with it and rebadge as a lancer... then ill say congrats!

Good luck man... buy a tactrix cable www.tactrix.com

do some logs and see if youre knocking really bad... I woudl highly reccomend not giving more than 30% gas or going over 3500 until you get this resolved.

Cheers!

You need to update your profile to reflect WRX...

Can you scan in and post the run? Did they log anything (boost, AFR, etc) while doing it?

You may be running very low boost at waste gatge pressure?

If you do not have a solenoid of some form properly actuating boost levels you would be running at 10 or 12 psi i forget... This happened to me when I bought my car with an EBC that the face piece was disconnected from the system so nothing was telling the solenoid to control boost pressure.I installed a MBC and set the boost to zero. The car dynoed 160 whp at first run when the mbc was turned to 0 psi it was way funny as hell to see an evo like that!
So i figure at 12 (waste gate pressure) it was around 200 just like you with no boost. I set the boost to 20 and it 295/275

Then why tell him that he needs a new flash without having any hard (or limp) evidence to support your assertation?

Before a flash he should Log the Car Buy the cable, spend some time in the ecuflash getting the basics of logging down.

im running 20 psi rite now. it should b at about 300 but idk. when i first got it installed it the car ran perfectly well, but now it doesnt... u think something's wrong w/the boost controller? like a wire not connected well enough? how can u pinpoint the problem, by datalogging?

Subscribing to the K.I.S.S method, I would return as much of the car to stock as possible (can you default your ECU to the stock map?), and then plug in an OBD tool, and see if it's throwing any codes. You could also take it to your local dealer and have them search for it. the KISS method dictates it's something stupid and easy, as opposed to total destruction in the motor. Being new to cars, but an expert with motorcycles and mapping, I see somewhat frequently guys with the same types of problems. A bunch of parts that don't work in unison, or more precisely, a map that doesn't work with them. It's called "Trick F*&%-ing".
As I wrote, if it were me, I'd start with getting a stock map put into the ECU, and working from there.

It could be ur clutch. Do u smell the clutch burning at all? when my clutch was going bad, it wouldn't pull as hard. to see if its ur clutch, floor it in 5th gear around 3k rpm and see if the rpm's jump at all
