50trim to a 35R? worth it.. or not

Looking for people that have made the change from a (50 trim, green, 3076r sized turbos), to a 35R.

Is the 35r worth it on pump gas or not?

I only run 93oct! Daily driven car.
I am thinking of stepping up to a 35r from my 50trim...lag should not matter as I have a 2.3.

Let me know any opinions you might have.

Used to be not worth it on pump but lately, buschur has been pumping out straight pump 35r(s) making 500whp so I don't know... that's just top end; How is spool on those retarding the timing that far to run 30psi? IKD you have to wait and see what they say.

Have you maxed out the potential of the 50 trim yet on a race fuel tune? Many people have made 500WHP on a 50 trim on race fuel or close to it on pump and meth. I drove many different Evo's prior to making my turbo choice and the 35R was just too laggy for my taste. 50 trim was as big as I was willing to go. In retrospect I probably could have made the same power on a green, but overall I am very happy with the 50 trim. I will be really maxing it out on the dyno in 2 weeks with meth, c16 and a 100 shot of n20. I'll be sure to post the resutls.

I love my 35, but I run Pump + Meth all day and over 500whp.

honestly, trading to a 35 with only running pumpgas is not the route to go. You will loose spool time and therefore tq. If you intend on spiking ur tank with some octane or running methanol, the 35 would be a wise decision.

Until then, stick with the 50, its where its at!

Why do you say that. He has clearly stated he has not gone to a dyno. You can not say you have 500 whp cause DLL says that

Derek, Like evotech said Max out your turbo first man. Run it on race gas. IMO I wouldnt do a 35 using pump but thats me. I personally am not a fan or meth/alky but have you thought of that?

just like cams, you can go too big on the turbo. If it's truly a daily driver, and you drive in any sort of traffic with regularity, turbo lag is NOT overrated. Even Buschur said when he first put the 35R on his car, it was no longer fun to drive.

Daily driver + pump gas + 35R on your 'average' setup, you may be setting yourself up for a dissappointment.

Do it way worth it. Should of just got the 35R instead of 50 trim.

Actually the DLL is pretty close. I know it is to the dynojet near me.

i made the switch. from the 50 trim stock 2.0 to a 2.3 35r. both ams . on the 2.3 my 35r spools faster then the 50 trim. i run 100 oct though and my car is a garage queen. so i dont know about a daily driver but my car is great on the streets. not laggy at all. i don't think you will be disappointed.

pump gas is a complete waste.

pump/meth would be a better decision

"race gas" is where this turbo shines.

Like said above, the new HTA can net you in the area of 500whp on pump gas with a good tune, you will have to deal with a little lag which IMO is over rated if you are using this car to actually race!
