Perfect Sense

Well...now that you mention it...instead of ****ing it out, how about coughing it up!

Nick always comes up with good product in the end. It'll definitely be worth the wait. Very interested to see what the power/torque curve will be.

Interesting looking turbo , if I had to guess modest ratio TS T4 housing allowing healthy header pipes which could do nice things communication wise for exhaust pulses and low losses .
The twin T3 sized ports obviously have limitations .

I guess it all depends on what you're looking for...faster spool, more power, etc, but the T3 is working for me just perfect.

I put down 378.1whp and 318.1lb/ft this evening, still running stock MAF, BoV, and ECU. You'll have to look at the other thread, https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=337911 , to see everything that has transpired up to today. We didn't graph tonight's results so you'll have to take our word for it.

We put on the 880cc injectors this evening but the stock plastic BoV won't hold boost and we had some issues with the "open" MAF sucking air rather errantly from the cooling fan and the BoV (we have it venting to the atmosphere).

Tomorrow night we plan on rectifying the BoV issue, but I don't know when Nick will be putting on the AEM EMS I purchased. So everyone will just have to wait for those results at a later date.

^Nice! Can't wait to see what it's going to do once Nick works his magic on the AEM.

Nick - how much lighter than stock is than radiator - does it come with fans and plug in? Thanks!

Taking it easy...

I got sidetracked with a business proposal I was working on for the past two weeks, and Nick's been busy with engine builds (his $2.5k special) and race preparations; so, we haven't gotten any further than last time.

I called Nick the other day to check on when we could finish, and he said he wanted to check with his turbo "consultant" cause Nick thinks that I'm choking out the flow on the current turbo setup--Nick's thinking that we might go with a larger housing to circumvent this problem, but until he contacts his partner in crime, we'll standby to standby.

In the meantime, I still have to put in my Defi Amber gauges and panels...I've got plenty to keep me busy.

It might just be a little lighter, but the fact that it moves the outflow neck to the driver's side is a blessing since it gives lot of clearance for a larger turbo, tubular manifold, etc.

No fans included...and you'll only have room for the push fan (passenger side) once you move to the new turbo and manifold.

Go with the thermostat housing from 42DraftDesigns--it has a 1/8NPT temp sensor fitting vice slitting your hose and putting in a Greddy sensor sleeve.

Yes, I have the 42draft designs piece already
I will be running with the green.

I guess that's enough...for now

It's been a while, but I think I finally got my car tuned as far as it will go on the stock bottom end...at least with a safety factor.

I'll post the graph later tonight, but suffice it to say that Nick coaxed out 436hp/353lb-ft (23lbs) out of the car the other day after the addition of the AEM.

It's a shame though since I'm pulling the car from the street to turn it into a track wh0re. Time to start gutting the interior and to price a roll cage.

Nice peak numbers. I'm looking forward to seeing the chart to see how it spools and holds. As far as shame, if you go with a DTM 1/2 cage like me you can have a street car AND a safe track car. My whole front interior is installed back in the car now.

^Yea, the 1/2 cage is a good match for a street and track car. All my interiors are still in.

Gutted

Nah...nice try Rich...but my car's getting me into too much trouble lately. Lead foot and all, you know. Plus it'll save on insurance, property taxes, etc when I take it off the street. Who knows, after a while I might even be able to save up enough for a nice trailer like yours.

Thought I'd get the chart up last night but was too tired and the kids (my two dogs) kept me busy for most of the night.

I'm going to start ripping out the interior--carefully mind you with future sales in mind, this weekend--especially for Nick so he can mount the AEM under the dash on the tranny tunnel. I also might think about those lowering brackets that Binary sells as well until I can afford some new seats, etc.
