Big turbo with stock intercooler

Has anyone done this temporarily? With it being winter still, im thinking I should maybe just stick with the stock intercooler until April/May when it actually gets around 60-70 degrees... Just trying to save a little money at the moment..

Opinions? Im not saying im going to do this, just want to know a few opinions on it.

yup, someone here in mn I know ran an SC61 on the stock IC with meth injection. He made 410whp on dyno dynamics and stock ECU, pretty damn good power!

You can probably get away with it but over the years I have learned that the more patient you are the better results you get. This being said do it once and do it right

just do it, you're not going to break anything. I've run a 35r with the stock IC, as long as you run moderate pumgas boost levels and don't try and get crazy with the tune nothing is going to happen.

If you have water-meth injection - it won't really be an issue from a cooling perspective.

It might just limit your peak HP depending on how restrictive the stock FMIC is compared to an Aftermarket Race FMIC..

Nah.. I rarely even get on it as it is. I like to have fun occassionaly, ya, but I dont do back to back to back runs or anything like that. Car has never been tracked.

Stock intercooler can hold up to 400whp before they really start to heat soak and rob you of some power. But since you're on the East coast and I'm assuming it's still pretty cold out there, you'll be fine till spring time.
