AYC in a American Evo VIII?
AYC in a American Evo VIII?
So, the X has been out for barely month (maybe less?) and I'm already tired of listening to ppl brag about the AYC system. I know that Jap and UK spec evo VIIIs came with this system installed. So here is my Qs:
A. Can an AYC system be installed into an American Spec Evo VIII ('05)?
B. Would it be worth it? Has any1 driven an VIII with AYC vs without?
C. How much would this cost? What parts are required?
Thanks!

Can't be done without major modifications. The evap system canister in American cars is where the AYC equipment goes in JDM and EDM cars. Long story short, if you put the AYC equipment in, you're no longer emissions legal here. If you happen to live in bumble**** Georgia, it won't matter... you'll just never be able to sell the car.
Well, here in the Middle East all evos come with AYCs (all that i know of). My 04 evo 8 have it. It's a really good feature, installing it on a non AYC evo needs a lot of experience and special equipment, and maintaining it is a pain in the a**. Once installed, u'll need some special equipment and 3 people to bleed it after every clutch replacement. this is because the fluid pump would only work if the car is moving... The worst thing about it is that you would never know if the bleeding u did is perfect you could miss a couple of air bubbles and would not know until u damage the pump and the 3 ACD lights comes up.... (2 of my friends had the same problem)
i recommend sticking with what u have... you can invest in other things
