P0234 + 3" turbo-back

Hi,i have evo 8 GSR 2005, few days ago I have instaled 3" turbo back exhaust, after that i felet more power in car, but some time at high rpms it was fuel cuting, then i instaled boost gouge and saw huge overboost at 2nd gear about 1.65-1.7...i think its to much...and then i saw CEL light and P0234 error...why it hapened?

there is two reasons:
1) new exhaust
2)rear O2 sensor,couse i instaled i t like there https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=114931

is it boost to high? can i fix it with remaping or with westgate actuator?

thanks, i am waiting for response...

Yeah I'd get an MBC to cut the boost back some. Your new exhaust is creating less restriction. Hence why you're boosting almost 25 psi. That's not safe.

This is why even with an MBC install, people leave the factory solenoid plugged in to the ECU. Yours might have shorted or something.

adding a TBE does not change your boost

It can. We see it more with VIIIs than IXs.

Post #5. Warrtalon pretty much sums it up.

actuator reguliation did not help...can this problem be from rear O2 sensor?

No I don't think so. The rear O2 sensor is just a check to see if the cat is working. It won't affect anything with fuel trims, timing, etc. in the ECU. The front O2 sensor could though.

How difficult would it be for you to get an MBC and/or a tune?
