problems with my evo

so theres 2 main issues i have with my evo.
1. when im in about 6k 7k rpms on like 3rd or 4th gear, sometimes the uicp will blow off the intake manifold. and shuts down of course... too much boost? pressure? i know i need a tune but will that fix it?
2. theres a weird noise. it sounds like a vibration, but cant really tell. when your drive in low rpms (up until 3.5k rpm) you cant hear it, but when its up there its bad. especially in 4th on the highway! dam. its not any drivetrain issues because i does the same thing in nuetral. idles well, but when it revs up, it makes a nasty noise. sounds kinda like its coming from the exhaust but idk. i noticed that were my downpipe and exhaust meet, there is a something coming out of there (air or water). bad seal or something but do you need that could cause it? (megan downpipe and hks straight pipe)

ahhh. anyways ill be thankful to any help. also would a tuner be able to figure out both these problems?

edit: k some new information. so i took off my exhaust and started up my car and revved it up. when the exhaust is off it doesnt make the sounds. i bent all the heatsheilds back and put the exhaust back on. problem came back! the gasket in between the dp and the exhaust show black smoke escaping from the top and bottom. could that be a problem? just add another gasket?

also i noticed that the person that welded the exhaust together did a horrible job... theres misc. holes were there are signs of air escaping. could that be the problem

uicp pops off is common on evo, just get some t bolt clamps and use hair spray when u tight it.

I don't think HKS makes straight pipe

Do you have T Bolt Clamps? If no get some

If you have an exhaust leak you should get a new gasket and fix it. See if the vibration goes away. If not take it from there

1. Tune will not fix UICP blowing off. Try to get better clamps or have some one put a better bead around the end of the pipe.

2. Is the exhaust hitting something? Is there a heat shield rattling around down there?

I had a heat shield that would rattle so bad it would shake the car and sound terrible.

With what?

We answered your problem about the IC pipe and gave you places to start looking for the vibration. Go get under your car!

The heat shield that was a problem for me was the one where the cat should have been. I removed it. It takes 5 minutes.

Then it's most likely an exhaust leak. Order a new gasket.
