Engine Management Mounting Location
Engine Management Mounting Location
I'm thinking about mounting a turbo timer, boost controller, and AF controller under the armrest cabinet...all HKS components. One obvious problem is the accessibility of this mounting location. If you notice, the armrest cabinet is not located immediately right to the driver...it is rather a little back (towards the back of the car thus driver has to twist towards the right and back for adjustments)...the visiblity of these units would be zero during driving anyways when the armrest is closed. Here are the units I plan to get in the future:
Boost controller (the screen part will be mounted somewhere that can be visible to the driver):

AF controller:

Turbo timer:

My question is...the change of settings (crank up the boost, adjusting the AF ratio...etc) will NOT be done WHILE the car is moving right? For example...I can't adjust the boost or AF ratio while driving right? The car has to be stopped and engine on idle for any adjustments to be made...because if that's the case then there's no problem in mounting these units under the armrest.
Thanks!

You can change these units on the fly...but you won't. Remember more boost...more fuel. So unless you really know what your doing and have a expensive a/f monitor...you can mount them out of the way. You won't need to touch them.
Actually, if I get the Vishnu XEDE unit...you can control both the boost level and AF ratio right (w/ laptop and software)? If that's the case...that means I won't need a boost and AF controller right?
thanks!
thanks!
correct...there are alot of options... If you decide in the future to use daily driving 93 and raceday 100...then maybe a external boost controller setup is better for you...check out some previous posts...
