How do I remove the crankshaft sprocket? *Pic*

I am trying to remove the crankshaft so that I can send off my block to be built. I just need to get this gear off so that I can pull out the crankshaft. I looked at the manual and it shows a gear puller from Mitsubishi to use. Does the 1/2 inch bolt unscrew? How do I get this off?? Thanks.

Unbolt the crank sprocket bolt, and it will literally slide right off without any difficulty.

I will say however getting the bolt off is a bit tricky as its got about 120ft-lbs of torque on it. Some people rig a breaker bar on a jack stand and tap the starter to break the bolt loose. It does work as I have done it that way before.

Or you use a nice air hammer. As stated above just pull it out. Be careful not to damage it though. Your crank positio sensor is right under it.

Ive always used a good Ingersal air gun but Ive also always still had the timing belt on. It has a wooddrift key in the crank so it wont hurt to take the bolt out first. Im not sure if an air gun will work now since the belt is off. Good Luck

I tried wedging a wrench inside the block to keep the crank from turning while I used a breaker bar to unbolt it. No luck! I ended up buying a 700 ft lb impact and it came right off. Thanks for the help everyone.
