ams vsr gains??

I purchased an AMS VSR and after buying it, Im wondering if its going to be worth putting pn with my setup. I plan on going bigger turbo in the future, but don't know when. What kind of gains would I see putting this manifold on. I'm also curious cause I have to buy a mini battery and also ams uicp for that manifold to work which is about 350-400 then mini batt on top of that. My mods are below.

Stock turbo w/ 10.5
injen intake w/ uicp
turboxs tbe
hks 280s
walbro 255
aem tru boost
megan o2 housing
Aem wideband
buschur race intercooler
buschur licp
exedy twin

The car won't be tuned for more than 23psi. What are some thoughts you guys have? I'm wanting to keep the car as reliable as possible

you should check buschur's thread on manifold testing, ams posted up some dyno graphs of cars (different setups) using their manifold.

I think Buschur claims around 10whp or so on the stock turbo, but dont quote me on that. Taken directly from Buschur's site regarding the AMS VSR manifold "Expect from 10-40whp on street to full race setups" Im assuming this would mean around 10whp for lightly to moderately modded evos. Also assuming stock motor stock turbo, but I could be wrong. Anyways I would expect around 10whp. I think its kinda a waste with your mods to be honest. You would be paying 1K plus install for an overkill mani. I would do it at the same time you do your big turbo, just my 2cents.

You will gain some power (probaby around the 10whp mark), maybe a little more torque, but you will also lose a little bit of spoolup. Personally, I wouldn't install the VSR until a bigger turbo is in the mix.

With your setup as of right now, I think just ported IM and TB is good. The thing is why waste money on that when you are gonna go big later and want a aftermarket manifold. Although ported stock IM and TB (or 65mm) still see gains on big setups. In the end it's up to you.

If you already have it use it! I installed my VSR manifold on my evo when it was staged 1-3 from AMS and a stock turbo.

Nice Intake, on higher boost levels you should see more than 10 whp. My car did but I also had a bit more work done to it than your car does.

On my 50 trim I gained as much as 30-40 whp in the mid to top end!!!

Do you have a dyno to show the difference? The VSR was the only mod you changed at the time to gain that much?

^ I saw similar gains on my 50 trim. +34whp and +15-25wtq across most of the powerband on pump gas. That was going from stock intake and TB to AMS VSR and 65mm TB.

I would not put it on unless you are DEFINITELY doing a larger turbo in the future. The cost and install is not worth the gains you will receive with the stock turbo running 23psi.
