ACT clutch questions
well i have a question for all of you who have the ACT street clutch kit or have used it befor what i was wondering is how long did it last for you and if or when u tracked your car how many lanches have or did it last for .. well i know almost all with reccomend it so i plan on getting it but so i just wanted to know on average how long they lasted and also i track my car about a total of 20 times a year and have arond 320 hp
I was making 330whp on a dynojet. Act HD street disk with a fidanza flywheel. I broke it in for 800 miles. 7 or 8 launches at the track, less then 5 on the street. After 18k miles I ditched it for exedy twin, never looked back. The clutch was pretty close to slipping and it NEVER released right. I tried everything from pedal adjustment, SS clutch line had 2 other shops look at it, every time after 6000rpm trying to shift into 2nd or 4th it wouldnt let me or it would grind like crazy. After the twin went in, zero problems.
I ran the ACT street disc on my 50trim(440), hp66(460hp) and my 35r(475)...And before those upgrades I was running meth at 375whp. I did numerous launches on the street and went to the track 20+ times. My stock clutch lasted to 43k at 350whp..so maybe its just my driving.
I didnt really break it in, was somewhat easy on it for like 300 miles..then went all out.

i've got the act street clutch on my car, its got 45k miles, i had 320whp the entire time up until about 8-9k miles ago where i added meth, and shortly after the 35r. i'm at 500whp now. i do launchs for anyone who wants a ride in my car. the clutch has been tracked (road course) maybe 6-10 times. autocrossed as well, but never drag strip.
i think you'll find a majority of evos run the ACT clutch, most just don't post about it.

My story, I put an ACT Street disc in it drove it for 20k miles and then put a big turbo on my car and at 500+WHP it lasted another 10k, and I decided to swap it out due to I was worried it would start slipping eventually.
So I listened to everyone and went with an Exedy Twin disc, well less than 10k with the twin, I put a stroker in and while I was doing that I checked the clutch discs, well guess what, my $1500 clutch was worn out after less than 10k
So I went back with an ACT 6 puck with Xtreme pressure plate and no complaints so far.
Just my experience.

I have the XTSS on my car... Street disc with the extreme pressure plate along with the prolite flywheel... Nice combo and after 5 thousand miles no complaints...
Cost wise its unbeatable and it holds just fine even my 3065 power!!! I am curious to see when ACT will come out with a twin dich setup!
Never locked out even changing gear at almost 8000rpm...

I have ran the ACT HDSS and now running the ACT XTG6 and they are both great units. At this point I don't see myself every buying a different brand. The HDSS clutch lasted until I changed to the XTG6 and still had some pad left on it with street and track abuse. Couldn't be happier at this point.
I have the street disc. I was happy at first but now I wish I would have gone twin disc. Had it for about a year. It holds the power but trying to get out of first on hills it just doesn't want to grab plus it's very sloppy clutch. I've never launched my car and has never been to the track.

, thanks to all of you for the positive reviews.
