pretty simple clutch question

I go to the track A LOT! Just lost my stock clutch a few weeks ago and I've been doing my research.

I don't want to spend the money on a twin disk, I think it's a little rediculous if I'm only making 280 whp. If I have to ease off the track, then I will seeing as this car is my daily driver.

I'm gonna be installing a gt30 pretty soon and I need a clutch that is going to be reliable AND able to hold the power. Any suggestions? (NOT a twin disk) Keep in mind it's my daily driver. I don't believe in letting a car I have a loan on sit in my driveway

I know you don't want to hear it, but if you track often and are going to be making big power on a GT30, there really is no substitute for the Exedy. The clutch is the last thing you want to sell yourself short on.

well what if I ease off the track for a bit? I don't really like drag racing anyways haha. How will a standard style clutch hold up?

Alot of people go with the ACT as an alternative. When adjusted properly, you shouldn't get high RPM lock out. You just can't slip it like the Twin Disk.

I have the cusco version of the exedy twin disk on my daily driver. I have heard that unless you go with a twin (which is rebuildable) then you will make up for the cost with either broken transmission /transfer case parts or replacing the clutch in a year or two of daily driving/ track weekends. I look at it like this, buy the better part initially and only cry once! If I had to go with a single disk I would probably go with a exedy single disk since they are the OEM supplier.

I heard the Exedy twin disk is really noisy, ie chattering, vibration, lots of bucking off throttle, etc. Generally a rougher, more race style clutch. Is that true? I heard the actual pedal effort is surprisingly light for its hold, but regardless, it isn't really designed for a DD clutch. Can someone who owns one on a DD chime in?

(Sorry for the thread Hijack BTW)
