Wink Helllooooo & Turbo Presure !!!!

Hello, I 'm French and it is a friend who will have a EVO VII which made me discover this forum!!!

I do not speak very quite English, want to excuse me ...

My question is as follows: is I would like to know which the turbo pressure one of origin on the EVO VII, as well as the maximum pressure authorized at the time of an addition of Boost Controler???

most people here have peak boost of 19psi but i wouldnt go over 20 psi with a boost controller but some do and they dont have problems but it is just my opinion.

Well, I'm boosting 1.5bar for my stock Evo 7 which is about 21psi(I think) with HKS EVC V.

1.0bar is like 14.5psi so yeah you're around 21-22psi.

It's common here in Singapore too. So, I was really puzzled as to why US Evos are sticking pretty close to 19-20psi. The 7s & 8s do have the same engine and internals, right?

21 psi and u have nothing to worry about... although i would stick to 19psi for daily driving... and 21 for whoever wants some on the road ( gotta love the greddy quick boost switch button... keeps your tuning settings for that level of boost!) But i dont think your stock intercooler piping will hold 21 psi for very long at all... i would at least upgrade to hardpiping to boost 21...

Thanx for your knowledge, ChillinEvilVIII. I will be shopping around for a bigger intercooler soon and will change the piping as well. In Singapore, we don't have much options for performance parts and the law forbids us to modify or change the exhaust. The exhaust is 'the thing' that's tamming the Evo and we can't touch it...

ds18.. that SUCKS!... i thought the U.S. had the gayest car laws... i guess France isnt much better... if you cant change the exhuast... just change your downpipe at least and maybe even run a test pipe... keeping your stock muffler of course... though you will be missing out on the power that restrictive muffler is making you lose... the downpipe/testpipe should definately give you a noticeable gain.... thats what i have in my car..3'' dp w/ 3'' testpipe... I live in the WORST county for modified cars and i have a restriced liscense so i do not want to get pulled over for my exhaust "blowing my ear off" and getting screwed for it... as for not having many options to modify... you are not that far from other european and asian countries... get them to ship them! there are many parts available in diff countries in europe...and for damn sure asia! good luck on finding mods... Get that bigger intercooler and piping... u should gain a very descent amount of HP at high boost (20+ psi) and even on stock boost noticable gains have been found by others on this forum with the hardpipe alone... ( about 6-7 hp ) and with a bigger intercooler about 20hp... wheel horsepower of course

I think no matter how gayest US car laws are, it can't beat this:
Highway: 90km/h
Street: 50-70km/h
Carparks: 15-20km/h
Fog lights: Illegal unless original from factory.
Bodykits: Mustn't protrude from body unless original from factory.
NOS: Definately illegal
Decals: Not more than 3 different colors.

Note that the above mentioned speed are in kilometers and they are the maximum we can go. But, hell, I don't give a damn especially on the highways or expressways(our term used here).
About the exhaust..... removing or changing the cat and changing the muffler are illegal. Does changing a downpipe alone gives me any gains?
