Spun Bearing

hey all im new to the forum here i have a tarmac black ix with 28k miles on it. The other day i was driving and my oil light came on so i brought it to the dealership and its been there for 2 weeks first they thought that it was the oil light switch wasnt that open the oil pan and seen scares in the shaft now my motor has been ripped out and i now am being told i have a spun bearing and waiting on a mitsu. rep to come tomorow to tell me weather its going to be covered. if not then im stuck and wont know wat to do! flash back about 2 months ago a rock hit my oil cooler line and basicaly valdise oil spill as soon as i seen i lost complete oil pressure i turned to car off and didnt start it until it was fixed but dont u think it would be the dealerships fault for overlooking any oil related problems and just fixing the problem and sending me on my way although i havent had any problems until now what do you guys think im stuck in a bad position im only 20 and its my only car i dont have doe for a 5000 motor so any advice or insight would help alot thanks guys

Hopefully they will cover it. What mods do you have?

Thats completly correct and please dont post anything about mods on this forum. I live in a little city in the NW and back in 04 my transmission went out. I had some HKS camshafts, exhaust ect back then. I put the stock exhaust back on and brought the car in. When i went to pick up the car when it was done i had to fight with them becouse they had printed off posts with my mods in it off this forum. Eventually i ended up getting everything covered but with them telling me i had been flagged and dont come back...haha....

^wtf they had spies go on here and look for you? that is crazy.

but to OP - even though you're otherwise stock, there is a very, very good chance they will give you a hard time for your clutch.

don't take no for an answer

thats insane that they checked evom to try and screw you

to the op, you should be fine. i cant imagine them not covering you because of a clutch.

i just found out even with all of my mods, that my car still has its warranty fully intact... insert sigh of relief.

They will probably try to say your warranty is voided, but as far as I've been told (I've never been able to confirm this) unless the problem was legitimately caused by your mods then they have to cover it. A clutch wouldn't cause a spun bearing, so that is the route I would go if they try not to cover it.

Mitsu will blame in on the clutch for sure. Either the clutch is out of balance, causing a harmonic vibration, too light to offset crank weight, etc........ They will find a reason. Not trying to be a downer, but it's happened too many times (documented here in evom) to expect anything different.

ohh yeah they will **** you over if you have any mods. I had a catback exhaust and tried to get one of my carrier bearings in my driveshaft covered, and they said my after market exhaust puts out too much heat and caused premature wear lol.
