Qustion about BOV? please help!

I have a fairly new 06 evo IX MR and i already bought a greddy rs bov. i hear that there not so good for tha evo but i also hear that after the evo 9 mr's dont have a problem. oh and also does the MR have a MAF or is it speed density with stock?

the reason i wonder if it is speed density or not is because i took it to the shop to see and they couldnt find the MAF. so if theres no MAF then i wouldnt have to recirculate the bov and i could use it as a vta but im asking just to be sure.

You better have a MAF - it's right there where the airbox connects to the inlet tube on the turbo. The only way you don't have a MAF is if your car is heavily modded and has an aftermarket standalone ECU...

Your stock BOV is excellent. Why would you even buy the Greddy? It's not an upgrade.

Listen to this guy. This is a great bolt-ons route to take for an Evo. It is a proven setup.

TBE, MBC, Tune with a IX: 320-330 WHP on a dynojet, and deep in the 12s on the quarter mile. Add cams: 350-360 WHP dynojet, low 12's or better.

Get a 3" TBE and definitely get a test pipe. Opens up the car an unbelievable amount.

TBE = Turbo Back Exhaust = Downpipe, test pipe (or cat), Cat-back exhaust
MBC = Manual boost controller = Forge Unos or Hallman are the populra ones
Tune = Go to a shop or contact Mellon, Dynoflash, 4 Wheel Slide, etc. With any mods on an Evo, you really need a tune. Even stock a tune helps.
FMIC = Front Mount Intercooler
FP = Walbro 255 LPH Fuel Pump
LICP = Lower Intercooler Pipe (This is a worth while, simple mod)

Uh, what shop did you say couldn't even find the MAF sensor on your car? Did they search in the engine compartment, or just up their a**?

thanks for the referral Burklow

AndrEVo44 let me know when you're got your mods installed and are ready for a tune to extract the full potential out of them
