Exclamation Some pipe is leaking unde the hood! Please help

Hi there,

I dont know whether to be worried or not, so I thought maybe one of u guys could help me.

After a very fast high rev driving, and a very harsh start@6000 RPM in my Evo 7, I was heading back home to park the car. Unfortunately I didnt let the engine cool down and the car switched off by mistake. I started quickly the engine again and decided to look under the hood, and was shocked to see some pipe leaking drops of oil/water! Its on the left handside of the engine just next to the cam gears.

What is it? And why is it leaking? Should I be concerend?

Any reply is appreciated, thanks!

i believe thats the air conditioning line. most likely building up water from condensation.

If your A/C is working fine it probably is condensation on the line. That is the suction side of the compressor so it will get moisture on it from the cold freon as you mentioned it is super hot outside.

phewwwwwwwww...

Well I guess that explains how good I am with Technicality! Bit I still find it rather strange because I never realized it before, coz this time it looked like water was actually dripping!

Well I guess I feel much better now

thanks everyone

I had the same worry - I backed out one day and saw a puddle so I nearly died. I just stuck my finger in it and smelled it ( ) - the puddle that is - and it was water. A/C condensation. All is well.

BTW what country is 50 degrees C and 90% humidity???

Man, clean your engine. It's horribly dirty!

Is that an Evo 7? It's got the Evolution valve cover and the emission stuff coming from the exhaust manifold. JDM for sure.

I washed it a few times but it just gets dirty very quick because of the messy weather we have. I think the agent does the job of washing it with soap and water. Actually, its more like they SOAK it with soap and water. You guys recommend any other method?

Japanese Domestic Market. For your section on the world, if the car is sold normally everyday, it's just an import, but if those parts are not stock to your section of the world, and they are stock in Japan, they would be referred to as JDM.
