Green worth the $?
openecu.org for ecu flash and tunertools.com for a tactrix cable. EcuFlash is very they do appreciate dontations though and the tactrix cable is 75 or something i forgot. From there you can either just flash different maps when you need to which is very easy so dont worry. Or you can go with the alt map switching harness which you can find in the ecuflash area.
a good tuner can get you a map for E85 and pump on the 1000's no problem, mine did! I LOVE E85, nothing like a 25$ tank of gas, and the torque it makes is unbelievable until you try it.
Oh I should also add lol if you go the E85 route...start saving money for the clutch...about 7 cars locally here were recently tuned for E85, and my shop has done 6 new clutches haha....same cars, mine will be going in next week. LOTS of torque, and I don't even have all the mods you do
You're getting a little lazy now after all the spoon-feeding.
The entire Evo community knows about EcuFlash as it is the primary method of tuning for Evos. This is very common knowledge and is something you should at least be aware of already if not intimately knowledgeable. Go to the EcuFlash sub-forum in the tuning forum, then read to your heart's content. I think you will be amazed and overjoyed.

I was aware of it because my friend has it but never really interested in it. Now I feel like it's time to take my knowledge and car to the next level. Sorry for the laziness but this thread answered everything I wanted to know in about in hour. I just downloaded the program and am buying the cable shortly. Thank you so much everybody for helping out a fellow driver who was just curious about alternatives to the norm of the 35r.
I think too many people jump straight to the 35R! Glad to see you're not one of them. Honestly if you stick with a stock framed turbo for a while, like the Green, or some of the other rumored or soon-to-be-real turbos from FP and CBRD, you can save the 3000+$$$ on a turbo kit and focus on building up other things sooner then later. Stuff like built bottom ends, maybe high comp pistons, head work, clutch, tranny upgrades....all stuff that will DEFINETELY help you now, and if you ever choose to go bigger, then everything is already done, and done right. You see a lot of guys on here going big without backing it up, and eventually, many of them will be spending that money on the kind of parts I mentioned, but I'm almost positive they'll be spending that money unplanned lol.
+100000000 to what EvoPirate said. My 11.8s at this altitude on the stock turbo make some of the big-turbo'd Evos (and other cars) look pretty dumb. People quite often jump to a big turbo without having the funds or knowledge to properly build the rest of the car. Then, even if it's built properly, they usually can't drive it (or are afraid to).
evoPirate, at what shop are you working?

Warr - haha, don't work at one. Tobz does my stuff. We've met, a few years ago when you first moved here. Sorry to hijack - so here is some back on topic stuff
+infinity to what Warr said. People try to run the NY Marathon before they can even walk. You see guys building cars with purpose, thought, and research and going VERY fast with "small" turbos.
The best thing everyone here should agree on, is do it once, do it right. Build a safe car READY to handle big power. Look at the OKIX car, they're said many, many times they overbuilt the car for a Green, but should they ever want anything else, all the solid work is done. The tranny is good, the clutch is good, the engine breaths as best it can, and it runs the best it can.
And now even MORE back on topic lol after saying all that, if I were you I'd wait on the green, and focus your money on other supporting or necessary power mods. Max out that IX turbo, people make insane power on it. Once you can't get anymore out of it, THEN drop the 1000$ for the green upgrade.
