9sec9/OKIX's EVO, ROUND TWO!
The car showed it's potential, now we'll work on the tune a little more and the driver mod. In summary, a decent 60 for laying off so long, a personal best 10.45 and a nearly 134. Also, this newbie tuner made my first on-my-own changes to David's safe tune. AFR's were very safe and as I get used to the new AEM, I'll feel a little better about making changes. The car has a lot in it, we've just got to get it out of it now.
Here's the video of the 10.45 pass. You can clearly see what happened. Tony actually moved to the left and lifted, then you can hear him get back into it. Then he drove on around the other guy. Tough break, but next time.
While were talking about dad's. Most people don't know the personal side of David, probably for a good reason, but, he's one of the best dads that a kid could ever hope for. As soon as he's home, he puts 100% attention to his wife and kids. A TRUE family man. 99% of the people that know him here would never recognize him on the home front. He's as good a dad to his kids as anyone I've known. That's what I like most about him. Anyway, here's the video:

Congratulations Tom and Tony. You're just scratching the surface now. I know that as soon as you get your methodical analysis going (and keep other cars out of your lane) you'll be kicking down that door to the 9s. It's funny, but your quest for 9s is almost as fun to experience as if we were there.

ADDED: I just noticed in the logs. The starting air temp (which coincides with the 'post' at the track) was 116.6. At the top of each run we maxed at 120.x with 2 of the runs only hitting the 118. Not too bad, guess the Buschur Race FMIC was doing it's job.

The Red is installed on the car now. I've got a few hours of things to button up on drivetrain fluid changes, other maintenance, and reconnecting lines, etc. and a LICP to adjust, and then I should graduate to the testing for gas mileage

edited: forgot the real punch line. 1/4 mile per gallon.

very nice first outing all things considered with some many new parts and variables to sort out. I do 95% of my tuning before I hit the track...with 3 passes a night I'd never get it tuned.
Smart move on Tony's part by letting off and better luck next outing. Must be nice to do half *** runs and knock out 10's like that.

Just found another big surprise in the logs. During that 10.45 run, when Tony lifted on the pedal he had just logged 114.9 mph. At the point of going back on throttle, he logged 102.5 mph. The final mph on the run was 130.67. That's a little more encouraging now. That makes the run that much more impressive. Tony, I'll keep you for one more race.

Curious to know something about those logs.
How much elapsed time between the 2-3 shift? What are Trent's avg elapsed times??
Reason I ask is everyone is quick on the 'downstroke' 2nd and 4th gear shifts, the 3rd gear 'upshift' seperates the men from the boys!!!
Maybe you can do some comparisons for us all to compare against? I guess right now the 'trent-o-matic' is setting the standard for what a 'good' driver is suppossed to be doing?
Damn, You Guys are really putting it down.. Congrats Tom!! All the hard work and R&D is paying off.. Its all about seat time now and getting things dialed in and itll get into the 9's i am positive!!
Yep, David knew what he was doing when he put Trent-o-matic behind the wheel. I'll check the logs and let you know. I did look at a couple of shifts on one of the runs. His 1-2 is always slower than his 2-3. On the 1-2, he was .23 I think. I don't remember his 2-3 time though. His 3-4 is usually about the same as 1-2. His normal 1-2 is .35, his normal 2-3 is .30 and 3-4 is .35. That's the time from off tps to on tps 100%. I think last night was probably a little better on the 10.45. Here's the log with the cursor in the middle of the lift off period. Notice load/boost is full vacuum. It was like that for about half of the lift off time. Loosing 12.5 mph and making it back up to 130.6 is the encouraging part.

Thanks Mike. You know, if you think about it, a bunch of EvoM'ers have done a great job of sharing information which in turn helps all of us get to the next level. It' community involvement that's allowed us to improve. It's going to be really nice with all of the new things on the horizon. I imagine by this time next year, 9's on a Red will be old news. David will be running 8's on the RS and all of the BIG builds will be cutting back on the whp and becoming more efficient. Thanks for the support and words of encouragement.
