Snapped a cam bolt today while installing HKS 280's....

Well, a buddy of mine came over to help me install my HKS 280s this evening. Last week I had the stock cams in there since I had to go for inspection and had to pass the OBD2 test...

anyhow, i dont know what happend but as I was trying to get the camgear back onto the cam, I threaded in the 17mm bolt by finger then tightened it finger tight. I then set my torque wrence to 65 ft/lbs and snapped the bolt... what gives??

Maybe my tq. wrench is messed up???

How much does a replacement bolt cost?

i really need to use a trq wrench. HAHAH. i gun them on with impact. never broke one. thats odd to because 65lbs is not hard to trq to. if you really had to lay into the trq wrench then i would geuss your trq wrench is out of calibration.

lol..... just make sure you have a good tq wrench thats properly calibrated.....and if youre throwing your body weight into it and keep seeing the bolt turn when the tq wrench should "click" prompting you to stop....then stop!!!!

yes i had to put in the stock cams to pass emissions because the HKS 280's cause me to throw a PO172 code......which would be an automatic fail on the obd2 test...
