Choosing a turbo kit

Ok, Let me start by saying I have no idea which turbo to choose. I want a 1/4 mile car that is in mid to low 11s on 91 pump (that is all Kansas has.) I've looked at everyones kits. 50 trim up to 61 trim. I was told by one person 61mm turbo is the way to go, bc it loves pump gas. I was told by another I don't even need a full turbo kit, just to upgrade to an FPgreen. I would like a few more opinions if you don't mind. I've read on GT35R's and have came to no conclusion. Two people said 57trim turbo kit.

Mods on 2005 Evo VIII: Evo IX turbo, tubular exhaust mani, O2 housing, Twin disk exedy, 680cc injectors, Walbro 255, FMIC, LICP, UICP, BC 272s, Tial RS adj. BOV, Bushur Battery kit, TBE.

help me out!!

If you know how to drive, Plus a Great TUNE, you could hit Mid 11's if not better on your setup.

Lol. Oh yea? This is my DD so I'm not going to run a tune pushing my motor to the brink of destruction......... With my current tune a low 12 is a great run. I'm wanting a kit that will make consecutive low-mid 11 sec passes that isn't tuned out to the max. But thanks for your input!

Would a green be enough to drop the 1/4 mile time a full second?

^ yup. no need to spend thousands more if only 11's is your goal. stay away from the big laggy turbo's on a stock motor. now if u build ur motor then get ur big turbo

Kansas- I live on the Kansas, Oklahoma, MO border.

E85- No not in the town where I go to college and am moving to Philly PA in a month or two.

Meth- No meth. Don't want to sweat any problems that come with it.

Turbo Kit- I've talked to several different people and I think I'm getting the Super Value ETS kit with a 57 trim BB turbo and a SS header. Lag but not too much lag. Lots of HP

Jeeperjunior, Look closely at the results on the Red in the next few weeks. Without having to push the turbo too hard, I think you'll find that it makes PLENTY of pump power to get you to where you want to be. I grew up in Grove. Southwest City, Miami, Seneca, Joplin were my stomping grounds. I'm not sure you need an entire kit. Stock appearing options will now get you there. Good luck.

Agreed the red is the new badass on the block but ,,, a green should pick up about another 30whp over your nine turbo but low to mid 11s on 91 would be tough ,, i tried an agressive tune with mine at 21~psi and was at about 120mph on a cold night but thats on 93 so its close ,, the advantage would be that it spools so freakin nice and its gonna be a bolt in for you but so would the red .

The red will require a few hundred rpms more spool time, but it will more easily reach the low-mid 11 second goal. I love the Green turbo, but making enough power to run that low on 91 is pushing it a bit. The turbo's capable, but I think the Green does it's best work in the 27+psi range. Adding meth injection to the mix is a little more work, but will def reap rewards.
