Exhaust system for track use only

I am looking to buy a full exhaust system for track use only. I was looking at a Buschur or HKS system. Any ideas? I want to eliminate the cats, muffler, everything. What have you guys used on your track/race cars? Cost isnt really an issue. This is the first mod being done along with a BBK. Thanks in advance.

I'd say go buschur or ams, they both make the best quality ones. and run either with a test pipe. cant go wrong with either.

i was looking at going with the AMS test pipe along with the turn-down but i dont know how legal that will be in some competition classes. I think that would be the ideal option The AMS system with the test pipe and turbo back looks good. Any ideas on performance? Also, any ideas on dB levels on both the turn-down or the turboback with test pipe?

wait a minute are you the same guy from AWOT?

It would be any downpipe of your choice with a turn down welded on the end to direct the gas away from brake lines and such. You don't really need the test pipe portion for any reason.

I had the QTP cutout cut into my Buschur DP before the cat section and QTP makes a flanged turn down I believe. That worked extremely well.

Note this setup will be extremely loud but it's the only way to eliminate all cats and mufflers and save some weight unless you do a full custom turboback with straight 3" pipe. This way you can buy a pre made Evo DP and put a custom tip on it for a few bucks and be set.

yup, same guy from audiworld

Ideally, I would like to go with an exhaust of some sort to get some weight in the back. Plus its also the look.

I have thought about going straight out from the engine to right behind the front wheels (dodge viper style) but im not sure.

So confusing with so many choices....its so easy with the audis

noise is not really an issue unless its at a couple of tracks around the country. I think the only one near me that it would apply at is going to be limerock. Thats why I want to have a full system if possible. turn-down would be nice, but I dont want to limit the tracks I can race at.

No vendor around here makes a 3" turbo back exhaust with no muffer. Even with straight exhausts they will have a muffler on the end. That may be a good compromise but open DP sounds BADASS and saves weight and cost plus = more hp.

hmm, maybe buy a 3" and get a muffler shop to make it a straight

I think ill just get a buschur, AMS or HKS for the time being and cut the muffler off later if i decide it not getting enough power or restricting the flow.

That option will cost $1000+ and the open DP would be around $250.
