who makes the light-es IC?

i have a spearco IC that is rated to 800HP or some thing like that, but i only have a green and don't expect to upgrade to bigger turbo....
i think that my IC is an overkill and I'm thinking off changing to something lighter.
thanks.

Tube and Fin intercoolers are lighter than bar and plate. Get a Greddy/ARC/HKS intercooler. They all make them in a high quality tube and fin design.

Remove intercooler..... add chemical intercooling system. Gain octane and intercooling all in one shot.

I think the difference in weights would be negligable between the two different build types of intercoolers.

What would be interesting is if someone made an identical intercooler of both bar/plate and tube/fin design and did a dyno and saw which one performed better, then see if it would be justifyable to have the lighter intercooler.

I have an ARC 079 (bought from Japan) it is only 1 kg heavier than the stock I/C which is very light. It has received a cooling award in Japan. Although it is small compared to the ARC 073 wide which is popular in the US, it is recommended for high boost and large turbos. It has a very clever design in the fins and the tanks do a search for ARC 079 you will see what I mean. I got 0.2 bar more pressure just by installing the I/C. I had an air filter and turbo back with HKS I/C piping already on the car though.

While running the car on the rollers during a dyno day my car was able to run more timing than other IXs that had the Greddy I/C on the car.

I'm in the same predicament as you. I have the AGP IC and they use Spearco cores as well. Overkill seems to be an accurate statement. Have a look at the PWR IC. GSC Motorsports sell them at a great price. Give them a call. I'm sure they will provide you with all the specs.

i have a turbo xs fmic, she's a tank.......the reg nisei unit is heavy too.

i picked up the the spearco unit, i was amazed by how light it was, ~5-7 lbs lighter i would estimate.

however, i dont know how well this plays with heat disipation......

sorry, no actual weighing performed, just my guestimates.
