A neck down between the Turbo and the intercooler is still a neck down, be it the coupler or the actually pipe no?

I think you are just trying to be too **** and annoying now...I think you understand what I was saying and you read too far into it and didnt ask questions before you started assuming, thats what I think...?

Not trying to be **** at all, it seemed to me that when somone mentioned the AMS you said it necks down as if the ETS were better due to this fact. My point was merely they should be roughly the same since the both neck down be it at different points and rates.

I understand you like ETS, I do also I think they make very good stuff and have seen nothing but good things said from people on here. I merely think your statement was misleading to the overall question as to which LICP is best.

As you can see Iv been a member for awhile and I dont post a lot, so I certainly dont post to cause problems. Just trying to help the OP.

is there a 3" pipe as well? Or if so, does it cause fitment issues?

The neckdown or taper or whatever you want to call it with the ams and ppi licp's are justified by them when they say that the smooth transition in diameter is best for airflow as to not cause any turbulence. That being said, I still love ets' products, and will be ordering their pipes and ic in the near future.

The way i see it, more couplers and pieces just = more places for possible leaks. Either the LICP fits or it doesn't, and if it's reall close but slightly off, the ends are still silicone couplers that have some play in them. If you are pushing the high boost anyone with an upgraded LICP probably is, the turbulence may not be as big an issue before the FMIC, and certainly isn't the only place turbulence occurs.
Besides that and whether it has a bracket and is alum. vs. steel, a LICP is an LICP.

Check out http://www.nisei-evo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=621

Ordered this 1 piece mandrel bent 2.5" LICP last week for $140 and installed it tonight on my IX MR. Was a snap to install, didn't need to remove the bumper just the under tray to install. I like the fact that it has a bracket like the stock pipe, this makes for a real solid install. Came with a transition coupler to hookup to the turbo outlet and t-bolt clamps.

Highly recommend it, real nice part.

Installed it without removing the bumper? Can you do that with any LICP?

I have the same piece of my 8. Great fitment, which is the most important part to consider. In the end its just a section of 2.5 in piping, but a poorly fitting licp can have you spending unwanted time under the car fixing blown off pipes or boost leaks. I'm sure the ETS is great, but the extra bracing like the OEM pipe is just the right way to do it.
