No...don't event think about it. To start with the gas octane is different. The ecu is supposedly even a different layout. To end with why the hell would you want the jdm chip? Click on one of the sponser links and theyll hook you up with the parts and a/f tuning to out run an FQ-300!

The JDM chips also run the ACD and AYC. Too bad we don't have that!

My local dealership tells me there will be a ralliart/MMC chip upgrade in the near future-but who really knows if we'll ever see it?

I've been hearing that urban-legand ever since the EVO VIII was anounced for USDM sales.

I guess I always have this feeling that japanese chip are better then ours because their market is so much more develop. I know I will pick a mine’s chip over a works chip anytime. But I agree custom tuning is the way to go. Anyway, what do u guys think what I might be wroth picking up in japan or HK? I will try to make some contact when I am there and try to get some rare parts for our cars that we don’t have here, but give me some ideas, thanks

Try to get suspension and wheel upgrade parts if you can, also drivetrain components. The more variety we can get the better. More options, more competition=better deals for the consumer.

ACD and AYC are controlled by a seperate computer than the ECU.
