Walbro question...should i be worried?

So the past couple of days, it been super hot in my area....98 to 100 degrees and i rarely drive my evo to work. Yesterday when i went to work, the car sat outside for about 8 hours and i did the same thing today. I noticed that the car when i come home and park the car, the walbro whine is really loud, like a high pitch noise like its over-working or something. It never does this in the morning when i start the car and drive it around, just in the afternoon after work. The car does not want to die or anything and it does not feel like the car is running out of gas and stalling or jerking. The pump is only a year old. Do anyone experience this with their walbro 255 setup? Thanks.

Mine does this too as well as others in the area when their car gets really hot, so I'm guessing thats the reason for the uber loud whine.

Does your Walbro have the install kit? Do you usually keep your gas tank near full, or do you run it below 1/2?

yeah, it has the install kit...the car had about 1/4 tank of gas. i dont drive the car too much so i dont like to put alot of gas in the car. dont like old gas in the tank.

I wonder why! Is it due to the expansion of the gas in the tank and the pump being worked harder due to the pressure in the tank?.

I started the car this morning and the noise was gone....drove around for a while under the cooler morning temp and no sound.....very curious on whats going on. Gonna fill up the car completely today to see if it does this with a full tank.

They are called "whinebros" for a reason...

If you are afraid the pump is going out, you need to be monitoring fuel pressure and A/F.

I wouldnt worry about it, I live in the middle east and drive the car all summer, which can hit 120 degrees easy, when i get back after a drive its whining, does it all the time.
