Found tooth on magnetic plug when draining tranny...
Alright so a couple weeks ago the throw out bearing on my twin disk exedy popped off leaving my car stranded. (second time) I pushed the shifter towards first while it was at a stand still to get it moving since it was at a light, only did if for a couple seconds and felt absolutely NO grinding. Stopped there on the shoulder and got it towed to my house.
Decided to order the AMS pull style upgrade for the twin disk so I would never have to have this problem again.
Ok so I got the part last Saturday, had the car towed Tuesday morning to the shop. Car was put on the lift Thursday...Friday morning when my shop went to drain the tranny they found a tooth stuck to the magnetic plug. btw this is a BUILT shep 5 speed tranny so definitely not stock, stage 2 I believe so it should be able to handle my power level no problem and I never beat the car.
Now this makes no sense to me since I've never launched the car or ever grinded a gear so I'm clueless. Plan right now is to send it back to shep to tear it all apart and make sure everything is ok/find out where this tooth came from.
I was leaning towards putting everything back together but I knew it was better to be safe then sorry and wait another week or two.
Any ideas? Also what is the turn around time for shep? I'm guessing it depends on how busy he is and how bad tranny is messed up if any at all.
-thanks
