Spark Blow out.

I've been having plug problems alot lately. I've been running BPR7ES, thinking they were one step colder but i guess they are stock heat range. Well i went to Autozone and all they had was BPR9ES's which would be two step colder...I think. 28psi on the stocker with e85 running *About*400+WHPish, But would two step colder be overkill?

Any possible damage?

I know BPR8ES's would be what i want but i can't find anything and after STIKiller.com mess my oder up HARDCORE(Wrong plugs, Paid for ten, i got 4, and the wrong size decal in the wrong color. Overnight shipping 5 days later...) I'm stuck with these.

Try the BR8Es ...no protruding, i've had better luck with those vs the BPR8ES...don't jump to the 9 range from 7

The way the NGK heat ranges work is that a BR7ES is 1/2 a step colder than a BPR7ES. The BPR8ES is only a 1/2 step colder than BR7ES. Your BPR9ES plugs are only a 1/2 step colder than the BR8ES's. So, you can try them as they are only a 1/2 step colder than the BR8ES's. I would gap them tight at .021-.022 though.

You could just throw them(the BPR9ES's) in for trackdays, as I don't know how long they'd last daily driven in stop and go traffic before fouling.

my plugs last about 1500 miles w/ meth. They are so cheap and easy to change it's definitely worth it

Yeah, me too. I run low boost(22#) on a pumpgas tune and I run the BR8ES's set at .023-.024. I change at about 2000 miles of highway driving. I order them online from clubplug.net

Does the use of Meth shorten the life of the plugs compared to running straight gasoline?

So, Steve, do you feel that the protruding electrode of the BPR's is preferable to the recessed electrode of the BR's when using meth and high boost? The DLI is an added safeguard against blowout as well, isn't it?
