rolling burnouts aren't that hard... I did one today... but it was raining.

That is a stock turbo? Why is it so laggy?

yes, its stock turbo. Does anyone else think it is laggy? The only dyno I've ever really compared it to was my friend's IX... my power curve is similar, but about 400-500RPM later.

Yes I think it's a bit laggy also. My VIII with the mods in my sig made 300ft/lbs by 3850 and over 260 ft/lbs by 3300 at 23psi. with my old setup before the rebuild, tb, im and head work it was still about the same spool but obviously less torque and horse power. Also mine was on a Mustang dyno. Just my .02 cents worth.

Wouldn't the cams shift the powerband to the right?

Is it a 8? #s seems a bit low to me with cams?

Anyway, the power curve is a bit laggy for that. Should be smoother for a stock turbo. What exhaust and intake are you running? You should add a MBC or EBC for your mods

Humm, I suspect the cams have something to do with that lag.

Recent threads including the AMS cam test seem to indicate that the BC cams need to be degreed to get good power numbers as well as a good powerband, check into that!!!

the cams absolutely affect the dyno and shift it to the right...as for the 3rd gear burnouts in dry weather, you def have ways to go. What kind of tires are you running?? Im def assuming your running a tire not designed for rain to do a 3rd gear burnout with that kind of power.

Yes it's an 8. It's a 2005 so it has the slightly different turbo. I do have a Greddy EBC. Actually, I am pretty happy with the peak power. I know of an Evo IX with GSC S1s and all the supporting mods that made less power, but MIVEC seemed to help his spool quite a bit.

I did catch that part about the BCs needing to be degreed in. May have to look in to this a bit more...

I would be interested to see your dyno sheet. Although, you are running a slightly higher CR than stock.

Yeah, I knew they would shift the powerband right. And yes... I know I have a ways to go for 4WD rolling burnouts. Actually, my tires are pretty good in the rain as I found out at the AMS track day yesterday... I think I was on slick pavement

Overall, I am pretty happy with the power, I just think it should come on a little sooner. I'm getting a cylinder #4 misfire CEL so I'm hoping to resolve this with new plugs.

The weird thing is that although my dynosheet doesn't show peak TQ until about 4400 RPM, I hit full boost (22-23psi) around 3600 like everyone else...
