What octane would you run at 26psi?
Looking to run race fuel tonight and crank the boost up a little. What octane would you suggest running? I was going to put 2 gals of 100 and then put 2 more of 104 once I get to the track (I'm at a little less than 1/4 tank right now). Would you go with C16, or would that be overkill? Whatever advise you have would be appreciated. First time I've run race fuel in my car.
I'd say your plan is probably passable.
However, to really benefit you need a tune with whatever "race gas" you intend to run while racing. Then you can flash your race tune and be ready for the track. Your seat-of-the-pants on-the-fly blend is unpredictable at best and unrepeatable at worst.
That said, why don't you get your car tuned for 26 psi on 93?
Do you have access to E85? If so, run E85 all the time and you will always be ready for the races.

Its not that recommendable to run race fuel on you car just throwing it in the gas tank, you should have a map specifically tuned for race fuel if you want to do it right. Also lots of people are running 26psi on pump gas(I used to) just tell your tuner you want a race gas map and he'll make one for you, and when you do either use C16, Q16 for it. Also you would need a taxtric cable and a laptop to switch between maps.
Good luck

i think with 26psi you are stretching a limit for 93.
But it will run still inside the safety margin. But the problem is to spike from 26 is get you a danger zone. So if the weather is change and you have a MBC....
I wouldn't recommend the 93 on 26 psi.
I would say 24- 25psi is a most, on 93 is a 100% safe set up.

I would just run 104... you know your safe then.
Running 26psi on 93 doesn't make any sense to me. You may be able to get that much boost, but how much timing do you have to pull to be able to do it?

26 psi 93 FTW as long as you tune is dialed it. The issue is you may have to pull some timing out in order to boost there. Everything is a give and take. You may be able to make the same power a 24 psi with a little more timing in her
It ended up raining anyway. No track time tonight. I do want to get it tuned for race fuel and then just have two maps so I can get the full advantage of race fuel. It doesn't make sense to spend the cash on 104 if you aren't getting the benefits of being able to run more timing with the increased boost.
If you are going to turn up the boost then get a tune from it. Trust me your not going to get the results you want. It may even hurt you if you start to pull timing. unikely with race gas but you never know. With out tune about a year ago. I made 17awhp by adding race gas and running 24lbs when I was tuned for 22lbs.
