There was a guy in India who claimed to invent this method with the notches. He had small engines he claimed were able to be more efficent and idle at lower RPms. I say no bueno.
The small dimples were believed at one point to help when placed on top of the piston and or cylinder head chamber. Think of the dimples on a golf ball...similar thought process. Also no bueno.
He has a nice surface grinder though...

I just cannot believe what I saw.
I didn't know that you could even do that to a clutch without it blowing up. Can you? Maybe this guy has found some new way to reuse clutches (sarcasm if no one got that).
