High oil level from factory??

Just check my oil level the first time since I bought the car
(only some 280 miles)... the oil level is higher than maximum
mark on the dip stick??? The manual states that it should never
be higher than that... Should I be worry about it??

Note: The car was driven and parked next to the curb (not
exactly 100% flat surface) for two hours...

Maybe I'll check it again tomorrow...

Same here mine was a little over the high mark from when I first bought it until I changed it at 2000 miles(didnt burn any oil at all). Also when I did the oil change 3 days ago..........I ended up putting in the same amount as I had from the factory( aliitle over full). I read the Mitsu book that comes with our cars and I think it says 4.8Q with oil drain, .3Q with filter, and .3Q with oil cooler. I added like 4.9Q and it put me a little over the full mark. From what they say we should add around 5.4Q but dont do it.....

it's impossible to drain every drop of oil out of the car when you do an oil change.... there will always be some left in the pan/oil cooler/ and in the engine itself. best is to do a couple of changes and get a feel for how much oil it will take each change...

I never pour in a 'set' amount. I always pour enough, then check the dipstick, and pour as necessary.

"Enough" should be around 4.8Q atleast. I guess they get it wrong from the factory too
