I had my oil changed on Thursday and on Sat I noticed my light would flash only when I would take off. It would only really do it on a incline and when the clutch wasn't slipped right. On level ground where taking off wasn't a hassle it never flashed. I haven't driven it since Sun, but I'm gonna check the oil level when I get home from work. If the oil level checks out fine I guess I'll be calling the dealer.

Oil level checked out to be fine. I guess I'll drive it some more and see what it does. It may have just been the way I was taking off cause I was in traffic in some mountains and wasn't working the clutch all that great.

Evo IX is on the oil filter housing. 2003-2005 Evo VIII is on the back of the block near cylinder #3.

I have witnessed the same thing in my nine. The light is not on while lapping and it only flickers after the session and after the cool down lap. It never comes on during daily driving.

I have had my oil tested and its fine. More than likely a sensor issue from heat. The heat is probably generated from the brakes as I could feel the heat radiating from a good distance away and the sensor is fairly close to the heat source.
