big turbo input needed

I think I've read in numerous threads that the stock motor can handle 500 whp with proper tuning. I'm looking to make about 450 - 500 whp.

My main power mods that I have right now are pretty much 272 cams and TBE with a tune plus all the supporting stuff like fuel pump, crushed mr bov drop in filter, boost controller, clutch etc.

All I really want to have to buy is a FMIC with piping, injectors, meth and the turbo kit.

Will a gt30 do the trick? what about an HTA35r at only 20 psi... is that even worth it?

GT35R or PT61mm will make it. Your not going to see those #'s at 20psi though

buy a hta35r kit and run 28psi on pump gas. My friend has 1000cc's, double pumper and 28psi with a mellon tune and the car is pretty fast. Should be mid to upper 400's.

30r or 35r at 26-30 psi will work..
gsrboi80 is right, you wont get 450-500 @ 20psi,, unless you build your motor..

You want a bang-for-the-buck setup to put down 450-500whp on pump/meth = FP Red.

a budget is good to have unfortunately its often blown.your goals are attainable within this budget only if you engine is not in need of a rebuild right now.you should be aware that tuning and the right combo is very important.the right combo with no tune will be a recipe for a blown motor.shoppong for gently used or low mileage used pieces on this site is also a good way to save some cash.the power addiction means someone is always upgrading to bigger and selling there used parts.i hope this has been helpful!

I just wish someone that lived near me had a 30r, 50 trim, fpred, green, or 35r just so i could get a ride in one! I honestly want to FEEL the difference in power delivery between a turbo like the fpgreen/red as opposed to a gt30.

I love the way the power feels in cars that have big turbos (like srt's) but didnt like the feel or the ported stock turbo on the srt... didn't feel as aggressive and fun.

FP red, means no kit to buy. Then you can spend cash on cams, intake porting, etc.

HTA35r with around 26-28psi on pump should get you close to 500whp, no meth needed.

a single walbro fuel pump is fine up to 500awhp but runs out of steam after that and the twin pumps become necessary.

Most of my customers with various 35R's and supporting mod combinations see 475-500awhp on 93 octane at 27-30psi

my car has a built shorty/head/cam and sees ~ 600awhp on 93 octane at 32-33psi

Like this guy said, you'll have money to do other stuff if you buy the red...Ported exhaust and intake manifold, and throttle body, along with an 02 dump will get pretty good numbers...If you wanna make 450 to 500 with this turbo though you'll prob need a meth kit...But even with all these things id say installed your only looking at around 3,000....3500 max
