Battery Issues! Need Help!

the past couple days my car has been hard to start...i'm thinking that it might be because of the weather? i park my car out side at night and its been gettin down to around 40 degress out....i haven't had problems with my battery until it started getting cold.....this morning i knew it was gonna start but i tried anyway and the battery had no power at all! didn't even give it a second chance of starting....also on my battery there is a little eye and the dot in the middle is black last i checked...does that mean its dead? it was black 2 days ago and it died and had to jump the car and it stayed black....also should i get a new battery like the one i have or get a mini battery kit or an optima battery? thanks guys for the help!

mitsubishi warranties the battery for 2 years or they will give it to to you for free. if it is more than 2 years then it is prorated to 50% of the cost of a new one-oem.

is there any way to check when it was replaced or if it even has? it might be the battery from when it was made in 2003....would you suggest getting another battery from mitsubishi? plus im at around 66k miles so i no longer have a warranty since i'm not the 1st owner

You should just have your local parts store like checker or auto zone do a battery test. Mine died out shortly after I bought my car so I switched to a buschur mini battery kit. I have never had problems starting in cold weather or anyother mishaps. Plus I have a full system in the trunk.

But if your on a budget, I would buy one from wal-mart. I got a new one this year for my volvo and it has a 3 year warranty.

you could always check the battery with a multi meter.. if it sits at 10-11v or under when the car is off and its goes to 14.5v or so charging. then its safe to say time for a new battery

With a bad cell you may still get the correct voltage, but when you have a load on the battery it may drop to almost nothing.
You need to go to Autozone or Advance and get the battery load tested.
