mr short shift
I'll drive to jersey if you want to do mine, but I too would like to see pictures and vid. I don't really care about witnesses I like the visual aspect of proof more.
If you did it correctly, you need to cut and plastic weld the plastic lock out gate for reverse after you cut a section out of the shifter rod so it all matches up again.
I thought about offering this as a service, but wouldn't even bother touching another one for under $150.
It only shortens it about an inch.

you just need to cut the shaft, keeping the part with the hole for the dowel pin, remove an inch of material, weld it back together.
Cut the plastic reverse gate, remove the same amount of material as the shaft, plastic weld back together.
finish both pieces to that everything slides smoothly.
done.

yup the most thing to be concern about is the reverse machanism......you have to make sure that when your in 6 gear u dont into reverse....jersey people can just come down ....and check it out..yeh it a alot work measuring and remesuring...the legnth of the rod is the same just ther travel is change.....the main problem is the cover..

so thats the drawback huh?
would it be that easy to hit R and get a grind when going for 6th?
is the works setup the same, with that 6th reverse issue?
