Question What mods would you do?

Ok,

Whats better?

Would you rather get the XEDE piggyback chip?

or

Get a boost controler, S-AFC and that kid on stuff?

Basically i'm confusted about the XEDE chip that recently came out. Can you boost your boost through the computer and at the same time it adjusts the air/fuel ratio? can someone help me... i did a search and i did not find anything answering a question like this.

Download the tuning software from Vischnu. It is not clear how far you can get w/o a serial number. Realize that the cost is $100.

Does the XEDE actually control the boost or does it rely on an additional bleeder valve to up the boost?? I had heard the latter was the case, but this may not be right....anyone?

I should leave it to Vischnu to answer this but....

It takes over control of the stock control valve under the air box. I believe that it also monitors the ECU's control. There is two modes discussed on Vischnu's web site.

I really wish there was a trial mode such that one could check on the tunablity of the unit. My guess is that there is a serial number which has a time limit on it but do you request that from Chip Torque or Vischnu?

Actually there is a demo file on Chip Torque's Xede web site, but the file is corrupt. I sent mail to them asking for either a copy of the manual or a working demo file.

We will see if anyone cares to respond or if they only deal with distributors....

I went with the Greddy E-Manage and I'm pleased with it. Does all that I want it to do and it was cheap.

Ok....so the XEDE box modifies the output data that controls the factory boost controller (FBC) which is located under the air box?
Is this done through the regular signal lead connection coming from the ECU? Are there any extra parts that have to be installed
to work with the FBC?

Sorry for all of the questions, but I had heard that there was an additional valve other than the FBC required to increase boost.

If the XEDE is just modifying the ECU signal, then it should require no extra parts or pieces, unless of course the dynamic range of the FBC doesn't respond to the modified signal without some kind of physical add-on.

I know this info may sound almost like I am heckling you, but trust me I am not. I am just interested in knowing how it works!

Thanks!

check out the install page he has for the XEDE EVO. there is a small restrictor pill in one of the lines underneath the airbox. that will have to be removed.

i believe you can alter the boost curve with the XEDE under the tuning maps.
