BR DOUBLE PUMPER INSTALLED, now FUEL gauge doesnt work. help.

put in BR double pumper, straightforward but what a PITA.

after install, fuel gauge on E with light on. (have 1/2 tank in car)

pulled the pump back out and closely inspected the float assembly. took it off and blew some air and closely examined it. no trauma/damage no bends, all the little circuits were intact.

put it back together and same thing. no response of fuel gauge.

any suggestions? i will probably order a new float but i mean it looked absolutely perfect. am i missing other possibilities of why it or the guage is not working?

Same thing happened to me. You're answer is at the float sensor, something is wrong there. I know its a PITA to take out and put back on, but gotta do it.

Also make sure your pump is positioned correctly. When i had a douable pumper, my house was turned slightly, and I would run out of gas around a quarter of a tank.

It has more to do than plugging it back in...there's some sort of pin that needs to get adjusted. My friend did it while I had it out..but he said it's a piece that can get dislodged when installing it.

I had the same problems. Check and recheck your wires to make sure you have a good connection. (1/4 tank problem for the other guy is from installing your tee fitting on backwards and it wasn't sucking the fuel out of the passenger side of your tank.) It might be an easier fix than you think. I've got the full blown setup and we had to wire it up. One of the connections was causing the issue. We messed with all the wires (wiggled and tugged a lil) and then it was fine. Hasn't had a hickup since.
