Vibrating noise - rear LSD/gearbox
Vibrating noise - rear LSD/gearbox
Hi folks,
I replaced my e7 rear AYC with Cusco LSD about 5 months ago due to common AYC pump failure. It work great for first month but subsequent month is a nightmare. The rear gearbox start making loud vibration noise from rear. My mechanic check and replaced few parts but it still happen.
The noise/vibration only happen when I turn both left/right and accelerate during slow speed (or turning the car from stop to left/right direction). It seem like LSD lock both rear wheel and create the noise. Here's some stuff we did but noise still there:
- switch from 1.5way to 1way, problem still there (the LSD allow 1/1.5/2 way setting
- replace the long shaft to rear gearbox due to damage of this vibration, problem still there
- replace the rear engine mounting bush to new PU bush which hold the
rear gearbox much stronger, the noise still there and much louder
The installation of LSD is straight forward, it replace directly with the helical LSD gear from original Evo 7 and we use 75-140 KAAZ LSD oil, we also keep the AYC oil in reservoir to lubricate wet clutch on the right gearbox.
Any suggestion? The noise is so loud that I dont want to risk another part failure in the car, so I choose neutral when making turn (no noise when rear LSD is free).
Thanks!
