What Turbo Timer Do I Have?

So I picked up a free HKS turbo timer, but I don't have the slightest clue which one it is. I'm hoping someone on here that has one can tell me whether it's the Type 0 or Type 1 (black).

Here's the wires that are coming out of it:

Black w/brown rings (ground)
Gray w/brown rings (e-brake)
Red (constant?)
Green (?)
Blue w/brown rings (?)
Brown w/black rings (?)

Any help is appreciated.

you have a type-0.

the red green and blue wires should have a white connector at their end.
red is 12v constant
blue is 12v accessories
green is 12v ignition

the black wire should have a ring crimped to it's end. it's a ground wire.

gray should go to the handbrake signal to turn of the TT if handbrake is lowered

brown goes to your ECU rpm input.

Note: TYPE 1 has an additional blue wire that goes to the ECU's vehicle speed sensor wire. TYPE-1 DOESN'T have it.

Thanks for the help.

The connectors at the end... I'm guessing I need to pick up vampire clips for them? I didn't get a PnP harness for the timer.

The brown doesn't NEED to be hooked up, does it? That would only need to be hooked in if I want the timer to auto set itself according to the RPM I hit correct? The less I gotta tap, the better.

You don't need the brown wire if you don't want to use the useless automatic mode of the timer.

I suggest you get a harness as they are really cheap (around 10-15$ shipped), and make your install much faster/easier/cleaner.

Thanks for the info.

I personally think the TT is useless itself. But I won't fight free.

I'm still debating whether I want to install it or just sell it. My interior is already apart right now so it would be a quick+easy install.
