when i first baught the evo8 about 2 months ago the car was only boosting 11psi, i baught a MBC and put it up to 18psi, it ran fine for about 3 weeks, then one day i was driving and i got on it a little and the turbo was spooling back to 11psi and it started making a speaking noise when it passes more than 7psi, i dont know what the heck is up.. mods are injen hard pipes, stock intake with drop in filter, catback and mbc..

 

Its a boost leak. Do a boost leak test.

 

sounds like a boost leak,but it could be a couple of things....

 

Do you have an aftermarket blow off valve? I witnessed the same thing with mine ... seizing up.

Well if it made a "speaking noise" what did it say to you?

 

does it sound like metal spinning ?

 

Yea what was it saying? Was it telling you to stop at In and Out burger? Maybe telling you to get some companionship?? naw im jk It might be a boost leak like some ppl have said

 

same thing happened to me when i tried to vta my greddy type s to see how it sounded. but i just put it back to recirc and the noise stopped.

 

guyz ,wats the easiest way to do the boost leak test ?
