Carbonetic twin questions??

In the market for a new clutch was going to go with the tilton ceramic but the Carbonetic twin has caught my eye....

Owners...How do you like the clutch any lockouts?...heard theres a second gear problem....what about high rpm shifts?...

Please im looking for any input on the Carbonetic.....i hear the last a long time...and i dont hear anything about rebuilding tem so i doubt i well rebuild it..I want to hear anything you have to say on this clutch...

Not that many people on here talk about this clutch but im really interested in it...

I need it for DD and drag use....

Any input on it well be appreciated....

A close friend is runnin a carbonetic twin on his 2.3l Gt35R
amazin clutch, last for ever without any issues...and non of the ussual drawbacks that you normaly have with heavy dutty clutches... very quick shifting is possible and no need to rev the engine to 2.5k rpm in traffic jams just to roll... pretty "soft" driving feel, no hard hits on the drivetrain when shiftin quick like you have on a common clutch!

go for it!

Edit:we tested many different clutches, carbonetic was far the best!

Before i sold my evo v i had a carbonetic triple, the clutch overheated from abuse at the track, and broke a ring and two disks, when i called the distributor he told me that the disks where 800 dollars each and 200 for the ring, i loved the clutch so much that i paid again 1900 for a new clutch since it was cheaper than to rebuilt it.

You will eventually end up rebuilding it, and when you do, it the rebuild cost will approximate the cost of a new one ($2000). And of course, there is always the big labor tab to replace it. This is about 3X the rebuild cost of comparable clutches, so be advised.

I've said this many times before, and I'll say it again, when considering a clutch, consider the rebuild cost before you jump in.

This is very good advice! Had a Tilton, Carbonetics, now probably the best clutch i ever had with a very low rebuild cost for what it is. {thumbup**

I have been running the twin for over 20k miles with plenty of launches. It's still holding up strong. I have no lock out problem, the pedal is a tad stiffer.

We only use carbonetics twins and tripples on all of our high hp cars whether its an Evo or another car. We have had no negative effects with this clutch. We have the carbonetics triple in our time attack 350z and it will be going on its 4th season without the need for a rebuild. We also have this in our Evo VIII T/A car.

The main advantage I have seen of the carbonetics over a tilton is that you can DD it. Tiltons dont like traffic at all. The carbonetics can be daily driven with no ill effects.
