Question Freeze Plug pop out!!!!! Its still runs fine after put back. What could this be?

I went 1/8 mile track tonight. At my 2nd run at 2nd gear I pop out my freeze plug!(by the water pump side)

I already checked my oil...no coolant. I check my reservoir...no oil.

What do you guys think happened? It this just a random thing?

I will do a compression test tom.

What else do I need to check?

Besides oil mixing coolant what else sign that I blew up a head gasket?(btw I got ARP's)

Any tip how to avoid of popping it again?

Head lift can cause a plug to pop.

Is your motor built??? just wondering if its overbored.

I would check your thermostat first. Just possibly if it got stuck closed, maybe the waterpump could build enough pressure to pop it out.

Goodluck!

hopefully just a freak incident but keep an eye on coolant as head gasket seal issue can pressurize the cooling system over normal.

yes its built(2.0)

Before I run I was playing with my 2step and accidentally I did something wrong. I set it to 6800rpm and when I try it....my exahust was making too much backfire sounds like a gun shots tried it 3-4 different times!lol(maybe kinda anti-lag set up)
Then I figured out after 5min and went back to normal 2-step @6800.
Will this anything have to do with my freeze plug?

hmm is there a typo in there for one of the rpm numbers??? Your compression test should tell you if its a headgasket or not. Check the thermostat and the compression on all cyl. If thats fine I wouldn't worry about it too much. They arent fun to put back in still in the car. But wanna play you gotta pay somewhere!

I raised it up from 6700-6800 and lowered my tire pressure too.

A compression test will not show a blown a headgasket.. You need to do a leakdown test back thru the cooling system.. I have seen popped freeze plugs and put it back in and never had another issue..

I just want to double check it just to keep me at peace

Car ran fine going home I just stayed away from boost. No smoke on the exhaust or anything.

I gez I need to get a new freeze plug right? Do I need to put some kind of adhesive?

Can you tell me the right torque on the ARP's(head studs) I want to re-tighten it too.

The old freeze plug?? I always just run a large (3/8-1/2") coarse thread screw in them, and stick a crow bar on the screw. Usually doesnt take to much effort then. But you probably wont have much room. You can jam a screwdriver through one side of it close to the wall and pry it out from there.
